Nose Job Technology at Our San Francisco Bay Area Facility – Cosmetic Imaging

Since rhinoplasty often produces significant changes in the structure of the nose and the appearance of the entire face, many patients understandably would like a clear idea of the possible results before undergoing the procedure. Potential nose job results produced at our San Francisco Bay Area practice can be previewed with state-of-the-art cosmetic digital imaging. While no technology can predict the outcome of surgical enhancement exactly, our imaging software does give you the most precise possible picture of what you will look like after nose surgery.

The Advantages of Digital Imaging

Dr. Gruber Showing Digital Imaging to Rhinoplasty PatientDiscussing the rhinoplasty (nose job) procedure, no matter how precisely, simply does not always give you the confidence necessary to make what could amount to a significant change to your entire facial aesthetic. Photography and computer technology give you the closest approximation possible of what you will look like after undergoing any type of nose job surgery here at our San Francisco Bay Area facility, including primary rhinoplasty, secondary (revision) rhinoplasty, and ethnic rhinoplasty. Before the advent of digital photography, standard photography was used to help patients see the possible results of a future nose job, and the plastic surgeon would simply draw on the photograph to show the patient the potential outcome. Dr. Ronald Gruber takes this service several steps further by using digital photography linked with a computer, which is quicker and provides a more accurate interpretation of how the procedure can enhance the face. The Digital Imaging Process

Digital photographs will be taken at your first nose job consultation with our San Francisco Bay Area plastic surgeon. Dr. Gruber will "morph" the shape of the nose in the photographs in several different ways, based on your rhinoplasty goals, to give you a number of options to choose from. Both front and side views of the potential nose will be visible in the computer.

At your second nose job consultation with Dr. Gruber, you can make a final determination as to the result, based on the photographs, that most suits your ultimate goals. Keep in mind that although cosmetic digital imaging is as accurate and precise as possible, it is not a guarantee of what the results will look like. Minor post-operative changes that occur during the healing process may slightly change the ultimate results. What the digital imaging process does is give you a detailed, close approximation of how rhinoplasty can change your appearance. The images are also part of the basic blueprint that Dr. Gruber will use in performing the procedure. The life-size images are incredibly useful for increasing accuracy in the surgical resculpting of the nose.
